Texas & New Jersey Railroad

The Jersey Line

The Jersey Line was the original route from Dallas to Flemington, through Arkansas and Tennessee. It afforded beautiful views of the Tennessee Hills, usually through torrential rain. After a few trips, we began to wonder if there weren’t other┬ároutes available, to avoid the rain in the hills, even if it meant missing Bucksnort. This was the genesis of the Southern Line and the Northern Line.

The Jersey Line must be the fastest or most efficient way North, since there were so many trucks on these particular Interstates.

For an engineer (even one guiding an automobile), passing Casey Jones’ museum was an irony not missed.
