Before I discovered cruises, I had trains. A train trip is the other reason to travel just to travel – it’s point to point, but you don’t stop anywhere (except Chicago) for very long. While some people do use the train as a primary method of transportation (fear of flying, have more time than money), I rode the train primarily for the experience. (I did spend some time commuting from Dallas to Peoria for a consulting job, because I was sick of flying.)
I have to find the rest of my GPS readings, since I did make one trip south to San Antonio, and one west to Seattle. So, I’ve actually done a circle.
